Some years ago a young boy in my close circles was diagnosed with leukemia. It is quite impossible to describe the level of frustration, helplessness and sadness that came along with these news and the path that he followed after. Today he's gone through 2,5 years of treatment and is doing fine. There are however approximately 150 families in Finland yearly who go through the same pain when their child is diagnosed with cancer. Most but not all survive. I joined Team Rynkeby God Morgon Helsinki out of respect for all these families. In 2017 I participated as a rider and this season along with riding again I'm the captain of Team Helsinki. Our team starts the outdoors season beginning of April and each one of us will ride 2 500 km before we head to our 7 days' trip from Travemunde to Paris where we arrive on the 6th of July. Our team collects funds for two Finnish associations: Sylva, that offers psychosocial support for children with cancer, and Aamu Säätiö, that funds children's cancer researchers. All funds that we collect go in full to these two organisations and we pay ourselves all the costs associated with our riding and trip. If you want to support me and our team in this huge effort you are welcome to make a donation here. My warmest and sincerest thanks.
